If ever there was a movie tailor-made for RiffTrax, it’s “The Room.”
Canadians will be able to watch the epic comical commentary on the film, live via satellite, on May 6, 2015, at select Cineplex theatres nationwide.

Perhaps the most baffling and hilarious independent film ever produced, “The Room” is a cult classic, and a favorite at festivals and midnight screenings with legions of fans around the world.
“The Room” tells the story – kind of – of a San Francisco bank employee (played by writer/director/auteur, Tommy Wiseau), whose fiancée Lisa, seduces Tommy’s best friend. This tears Tommy apart, causing him to put on a tuxedo and play very lame games of football toss with his weird neighbor, have long puzzling rooftop discussions, and eventually, throw a very light TV out his own window.
It’s ripe material for RiffTrax’s hilarious commentaries that merge with movies as you watch. RiffTrax features the unique humor of Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett. The three comedians are hosts and writers from the Emmy-nominated, Peabody Award-winning Mystery Science Theater 3000. They have produced more than 150 commentaries by riffing on all manner of film, from old cheesy genre films to today's biggest blockbusters.
"The first time we screened 'The Room,' at the five minute mark we were puzzled,” says Michael J. Nelson. “Ten minutes in we were cautiously optimistic. Twenty minutes in we were pretty sure this was the greatest RiffTrax material of all time. And so it was and is."
Nelson, Murphy and Corbett will bring their special brand of movie mockery to theaters nationwide.
